can we have a discussion?? what do we think of the idea of uses non native and invasive species for art and decoration? do we have ways to do it better, or ways to promote its removal while repurposing it for another use? can we revel in it beauty, while understanding the duality of its destruction of our native ecosystems? an open question. this is phragmites. while there is a native species, this is not native and it unfortunately takes over wetlands and other vulnerable areas very aggressively. i have been have a few conversations around the harvesting of these grasses with friends and ecologists and i wanted to pose it to the internet #nature #invasive #grass #columbus #ohio #unitedstates #art #questions #ecology
